Our Services

The SSEG Application Process

Our application process covers a range of electrical main supply services, including new supply applications, upgrades or downgrades to existing supplies, tariff adjustments, and meter changes for solar export. Applicants may also request electrical load calculations. Each application type have associated fees based on the nature of the service requested. A detailed breakdown of fees and submission requirements is provided in the application guidelines to help ensure a smooth and transparent process.

  • After receiving the client’s system design information, SSEG Hub checks to ensure that it is according to the NRS 097-2, NRS 048 and SANS 10142 regulations. The solar company remains responsible for the final design.

  • We complete the SSEG Application form with all the relevant information, according to each municipality’s criteria.

  • We do a single line drawing using the above design information. This is done according to the municipality’s requirements and standards. For commercial sites, we do a layout drawing as well. Many estates require solar panel layout drawings which we can also provide.

  • Next, SSEG Hub submits the application, accompanied with all the supporting documentation.

  • We regularly follow up with the various municipalities regarding the status of each application.

  • SSEG Hub performs the inspection with the installer, in order to ensure that the applicable regulations have been adhered to.

  • An inspection report is sent to the solar installation company.

  • We handle the Municipal Supplemental (SSEG) Contract between the relevant municipality and property owner.

  • We do the commissioning report and sign-off by our Professional Electrical Engineer.

  • All commissioning documentation is submitted to the municipality by SSEG Hub.
