SSEG Process
What is the SSEG approval procedure?
1. Submit an application form
The first step is to submit a SSEG application form, together with a single line drawing to the municipality. In the application, the Electrical Engineer’s details need to be included.
2. Receive confirmation of successful application
If the application is successful, a “Permission To Install” Letter will be received.
3. Inspection
Once the installation has been completed, inspection has to be done to ensure that it complies with SANS 10142 and NRS 097.
4. Electrical Certificate of Compliance (COC)
Electrical Certificate of Compliance (COC) is done by an registered electrical contractor.
5. Commissioning Sign-Off
Once the whole installation has been done according to these regulations, the Commissioning Form can be signed off by a Professional Electrical Engineer.
6. Municipality submissions
The Commissioning Form, single line drawing, Electrical Certificate of Compliance (COC) and contract is then submitted to the relevant municipality.
7. Process completion
The SSEG process is now completed.
